ABOUT ME

Thank you for the opportunity to work with you and/or your family!

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist (California PSY18057), specializing in individual, family and group psychotherapy across the lifespan.  I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1989 (BA in Psychology).  I obtained a master’s degree in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1992, and a master’s degree (1992) and doctorate in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Kansas in 1998.

I have been in private practice in San Luis Obispo, CA since 2002, providing psychological care for people with life adjustment issues, stress/anxiety management difficulties, obsessive-compulsive symptoms and sleep problems.  I typically employ behavioral, cognitive-behavior (CBT), somatic and transpersonal therapy approaches.

My published work includes a book with Marion O’Brien, Ph.D. titled "Beyond the Autism Diagnosis: A Professional’s Guide to Helping Families" (2006, Paul Brooks Publishing Company),  an educational film and manual titled "The Autism 411 Kit: User-friendly intervention strategies for children on the Autism Spectrum", and multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals related to functional assessment and behavior analysis applied to improving the lives of children.
